Germany, a land of ideas and innovations as well as an economic power, will only be able to maintain its high standard of living and assert itself internationally if the skilled workers of tomorrow meet the demands of advancing globalization.
And where else, if not in a functioning education system, can we develop our next generation and make them ready for the changing demands of their future professional life? Out of this conviction and against the background of the rapidly changing conditions after the reunification in 1989, Rüdiger School and Dr. med. Horst Jähnert founded the European Primary School Glauchau in 2003: a new type of school that should be worldly, foreign-language and future oriented, directed by the increasing challenges of the labor market and also emphasizes values and norms in the curriculum.
The success of the first school paved the way, and additional schools were established in 2005 and 2009. With the creation of the Saxony International School (SIS) in July 2009, all existing schools transferred into the school network SIS. On August 17, 2009 the name of Carl Hahn – a known automobile manager, world citizen and native of Chemnitz - was ceremoniously awarded to the school network.
What the Saxony International School stands for
The Saxony International School - Carl Hahn gGmbH in cooperation with the GGB Society for Integrated Education gGmbH Saxony is a steadily developing educational institution in the State of Saxony.
Based on internationally successful concepts and oriented on the curricula of the State of Saxony, we offer consistent and holistic education programs beginning in early childhood. Solid expertise, foreign languages, media and business skills, social skills paired with values and norms of our society are the pillars of our educational concept.
Our Mission: Education for Life!
A team of engaged people contribute their personal strengths, professional competencies and experiences into their daily work with the children and students in our institutions within the SIS school network.
The schools of the SIS network are places where first-class knowledge acquisition takes place in small classes and through individual support. Team spirit and a pleasant learning atmosphere contribute to a sustainable learning success.
The curricula are derived from evidence-based research. The constant professional developments of our teachers in their field of specialization as well as in methodical didactics ensure a high quality of teaching in our schools.
We want to stimulate lifelong learning. Learning processes are therefore designed in such a way that contents are not taken up passively but rather are developed actively, independently and creatively. Great emphasis is given to individualized, age-appropriate and successive imparting of knowledge and skills.
Uniform school clothing is worn in our schools because we consider it important to emphasize the connection and to prevent exclusion.
Our vision: Our field is the world!
At our educational institutions, we want to make young people strong for the ever-expanding, ever-changing world in the sense of our namesake Carl Hahn. We are convinced that every student has the right to good education, and should be strengthened and supported for developing a well-rounded and well-adjusted member of society. Our strive for integrated learning with head, heart and hand, to take responsibility for oneself and others will enable us to stand up for social justice in our society, and to work earnestly and independently.
The cornerstones of our actions are mutual respect, openness, self-reflection, team spirit and the development of empathy, tolerance and social values. Internationalism and awareness of sustainability are further guides of our actions.
