An outstanding highlight was the visit of Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, whose participation impressively underlined the close partnership between Saxony and Egypt. His visit marked a significant milestone for the Saxon-Egyptian education offensive and sent a strong signal for international cooperation in the field of dual training.
As SIS Middle East we are not only a proud part of this new university, but are also significantly involved in the development of the curricula - in line with the German dual education system. To mark the occasion, our entire team was on site. We were particularly pleased with the personal presence of Mr. Rüdiger School and Ms. Sabrina Simchen-Schubert, Managing Directors of SIS and GGB, who traveled all the way from Germany.
Another important milestone of the day was the ceremonial signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) - including with the Saxon universities WHZ (Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau), HSZG (Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz) and the TU Freiberg. A forward-looking agreement has also been concluded with the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Egypt). These partnerships form the basis for close, practice-oriented cooperation in research, teaching and training.
With the opening of the SEU marked the start of a new era in bilateral educational cooperation. We are looking forward to the upcoming projects with great anticipation and are convinced that the SEU will become a beacon of German-Egyptian cooperation in the education sector.
We would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment and vision - and look forward to many joint successes in the years to come.
