Mission statement of Saxony International School

Founding idea

Germany, a country of ideas, innovation and economic power, will only be able to maintain its high standard of living and assert itself internationally if the skilled workers of tomorrow can also meet the demands of advancing globalization.

And where else, if not in a functioning education system, in a good school, can we succeed in making the next generation, young people, fit for the future in the sense of being able to meet the changing demands of working life. Based on this conviction and against the backdrop of the rapidly changing circumstances following the political changes in 1989, Rüdiger School and Dr. Horst Jähnert founded the European Primary School Glauchau in 2003: A new type of school which, on the one hand, was to be forward-looking, cosmopolitan, foreign language-oriented and geared towards the increasing challenges of the world of work. On the other hand, values and standards were also to play a major role in teaching.

The success of the first school proved the founders right, and further schools were founded between 2005 and 2009 - in July 2009, Saxony International School was born and all existing schools were transferred to SIS. Finally, on August 17 of the same year, the school was ceremoniously named after Carl Hahn, the well-known automobile manager, global citizen and native of Chemnitz.

This is what we stand for

Saxony International School - Carl Hahn gGmbH, in association with GGB Gesellschaft zur ganzheitlichen Bildung gGmbH, is a constantly developing educational institution in the Free State of Saxony.

Based on internationally successful concepts and oriented towards the Saxon curricula, we offer a consistent, holistic educational program that starts at an early age. Solid specialist knowledge, foreign language, media and business skills, social skills and abilities as well as orientation towards the values and norms of our society are the pillars of our educational concept.

Our mission: Education for life!

At the facilities of the SIS educational network, people are committed to contributing their personal strengths, professional skills and experience to their daily work with children and young people.

The schools in the SIS network are places where first-class knowledge is acquired in small classes and through individual support. Team spirit and a pleasant learning atmosphere contribute to sustainable learning success. The latest scientific findings are always incorporated into the teaching design. Regular further training for our teachers in subject-specific science as well as in methodological and didactic areas ensures the high quality of teaching at our schools.

We want our lessons to provide impetus for lifelong learning. Learning processes are therefore designed in such a way that content is not passively absorbed, but actively, independently and creatively developed. We attach great importance to individual, age-appropriate and sequential teaching of knowledge and skills. Uniform school clothing is worn at our schools because we believe it is important to emphasize what unites us and prevent exclusion.

Our vision: Our field is the world!

At our educational institutions, we want to make young people strong for the ever-growing, ever-changing world, in the spirit of our namesake Carl Hahn.

We are convinced that every pupil is entitled to good teaching and must be developed, strengthened and supported in the sense of a holistic personality. We focus on holistic learning with head, heart and hand and want each individual to develop the willingness to take responsibility for themselves and others and thus be able to stand up for social justice in our society and work honestly and independently. We see mutual respect, openness, respect, self-reflection, teamwork and the development of empathy, tolerance and social values as the cornerstones of our actions. Global thinking and an awareness of sustainability also guide our actions.
