Members of the Saxon State Government visit SIS Cairo West

On 16.04.2024, a delegation from the Saxon Ministry of Science and Culture led by State Secretary Dr. Handschuh visited the Saxony International School - Cairo West. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Barbknecht, Rector of TU Freiberg, and Prof. Dr. Kratzsch, Rector of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Representatives of the German Embassy also took part.

The guests started with a tour of the school. Various classes in different age groups were visited. This was followed by a presentation of our company and a subsequent discussion. All visitors were very positively surprised by the school building, its size and facilities. A swimming pool, open-air theater, a large library, etc. were just some of the special features compared to German schools. The pupils introduced themselves confidently and without an accent in three languages (English, German and Spanish) and sang the SIS anthem in English. One pupil was also keen to recite Chinese sentences to the guests.

The very short construction time was also a surprise. Only 6 months passed from the ground-breaking ceremony to the use of the large daycare complex. The wide range of cooperation opportunities in both the academic and labor recruitment sectors and the recruitment of students for our German universities and colleges were important topics.

The existing telc competence center of SIS in Germany and the associated objective of "acquiring linguistically and professionally well-prepared students" for German universities, who are prepared linguistically and professionally by our local Studienkolleg branch of STUDIENCOLLEG-Bildungsgesellschaft mbH Glauchau, convinced the guests.

There was also a lot of demand for our Saxony Egypt University (SEU), which will be launched in September. Saxony is the only federal state with such a high profile in Egypt. That is why the Egyptian President Mr. Al-Sisi has also called for the university name to be changed to Egypt, which we are pleased about. The university was initially to be called Cairo Saxony University (CSU). With the name change to Saxony Egypt University (SEU), the university has been upgraded because Saxony has an excellent reputation, also thanks to us and our existing vocational training there.
