Adventure abroad: discover the world with Erasmus+ funding

Over the past few months, many students have once again taken the opportunity to travel abroad and get to know fascinating cultures as part of Erasmus+. In Getxo, for example, the ION immersed themselves in the exciting history of industrialization and experienced how an industrial city was transformed into a tourist hub. The IGM set off to discover the impressive buildings of Catalonian modernism in Barcelona and were absolutely thrilled by the unique architecture. But the exchange was more than just learning: there were numerous activities that not only gave the students new knowledge, but also new friendships. One student said after her return: "Experiencing culture and leisure together brought us closer together. It was an incredibly enriching experience - I'm already looking forward to showing our exchange students from Spain our region!"

At the end of last year, the time had come: the Spanish exchange students from Getxo and Barcelona visited our schools in Niederwürschnitz and immersed themselves in German Christmas traditions. The students from IOM, IGM, IOR and IGR were visited by their exchange partners from Spain and Denmark in March. But our schools were also ready for new adventures! In spring, seven groups of students went on student mobility to Spain, the Czech Republic and Denmark - new countries, new cultures, new experiences!

Our teachers also took the opportunity to expand their foreign language skills in various courses, get to know new innovative teaching methods or get a taste of other education systems through work shadowing.

Thanks to generous funding from the EU's Erasmus+ program, international exchanges for students and teachers are greatly supported financially, allowing us to bring our international profile to life in a very practical way.
